1. Vacuum frequently, atleast once a week or more in heavy traffic areas. It helps remove dry soil particles that can dull fibers and cause matting. Up to 80% of carpet dirt is loose and removable with regular vacuuming. Don't forget to vacuum edges. The micro dust particles that accumulate are hard to remove. 2. Avoid long hours ofdirect sunlight on carpet. Close blinds periodically Select a lighter colored carpet in sun-drenched rooms to minimize fading. 3. Don't pour water on to stains in order to lighten them. Although this can loosen the stain, it will subsequently sink deeper into the carpet and the pad, making it worse in the long run. 4. Consider using area rugs in high traffic areas. That will protect your carpet from staining and wear. 5. Get at stains quickly, 99% of all stainscan be removed by a cleaning agent if they are cleaned promptly. The longer a stain chemically reacts with the carpet the harder it will be to remove it. 6. Never scrub or dig into the carpet when trying to remove a stain or you will risk ruining the carpet fibers or letting the spill soak through to the carpet pad.
